Western Cape Unemployment Insurance Fund to embark on Community Outreaches in Hermanus
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour will be embarking on a two-day community outreach program that will, amongst other things, provide services to the communities of Gansbaai and Zwelihle in Hermanus.
The UIF is a key business unit within the Department and its services directly impacts the livelihoods of the South Africans and particularly far-flung communities like Gansbaai and Zwelihle and is responsible for the processing and payment of unemployment benefits which provides short term financial relief to the unemployed.
The outreach will be used to provide same-day service to all unemployed clients applying for UIF benefits. The following services will be rendered:
Assisting with Covid-19 Ters enquiries
Taking of UIF applications
Claims assessment and processing of payments
Resolving UIF enquiries
COIDA: Compensation of Injuries and Diseases Act – enquires/ application / Employer Registration
PES: Public Employment Services – Registration of work seekers on ESSA
IES: Inspection and Enforcement Services – Attend to BCEA/LRA enquiries
CCMA: Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration
The Department of Health, Home Affairs and Standard Bank mobile units will also be on-site to provide services to the communities.
Members of the public who wish to be assisted on the above-mentioned services are encouraged to bring along the following documents:
ID Documents / Valid passport
Proof of residence
Completed UI-19 & salary schedule
Bank stamped UI-2.8 form
The outreach will be managed in compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
