The Bloemfontein Labour Centre has temporarily closed operations due to numerous positive COVID- 19 cases.
The centre will be closed from today, 9 December 2021. Decontamination of the offices will be undertaken in line with the safety protocol, and to further ensure the safety of clients and employees.
Operations will resume on Monday, 13 December 2021. Regrettably, the centre will be operating with limited staff, as numerous officials will be in quarantine.
Chief Director Provincial Operations Ms. Emily Maneli said: “The closure of the centre is unfortunate, however, it was necessary as the health and safety of both our clients and officials is a priority”. She urged the public to continue adhering to COVID-19 regulation to minimise the spread of the virus.
The Department of Employment and Labour is concerned about the disruption of the provision of services but equally, wouldn’t want to expose the public to the pandemic.
Clients are encouraged to use the Department’s online services found on www.labour.gov.za
