The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department is busy conducting emergency repairs to a 225 mm diameter pipeline burst in Hout Bay today, Tuesday, 9 November 2021. This work requires that the water main be shut off from noon today until about 18:00 to enable the maintenance crew to do the work safely.
This work is currently taking place and is resulting in the disruption of the water supply to areas in and around Victoria Main Road, Baviaanskloof and Scott Estate, in Hout Bay, from noon, for about six hours today, if all goes as planned.
A water tanker is being deployed to the area to provide residents with water for domestic use while the emergency repairs are under way.
Residents and businesses should please also ensure all taps are turned to the closed position after the water goes off to prevent any water loss and/or damage to property when the supply is restored.
The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
