OKAHANDJA: Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Anna Nghipondoka said the ministry has achieved 85 per cent of its targets during the 2023/24 fiscal year, as set out in their performance agreement.

Nghipondoka made these remarks on Monday during the midterm review of the extended strategic plan 2023/24-2024/25 and the finalisation and validation of the annual plans for 2024/25 at Okahandja.

In the period under review, government allocated N.dollars 16.8 billion to the ministry.

‘With this allocation, though not sufficient, the ministry was able to achieve many of the targets it had set for itself. This is deserving of a resounding applause because it shows that our staff members are fully committed to the tasks at hand, despite some challenges that we face,’ Nghipondoka said.

She also stressed the importance of multi-stakeholder planning, monitoring and evaluation processes for the ministry, adding that they set the framework for efforts to accelerate the provision of quality and inclusive education.

‘
As such, our emphasis on multi-stakeholder planning and monitoring and evaluation is motivated by our desire to identify and address some of the persistent challenges that continue to affect our education system, in a collaborative and cooperative manner with all of you present here. Your efforts towards the betterment of education for the Namibian child is highly appreciated and encouraged,’ Nghipondoka maintained.
