GAUTENG – The attentiveness of the Station Commander of Dube, Captain Malatsi led to the arrest of two people for possession of fraudulent documents and fraud.
On 10 January 2022, a woman came to Dube police station to certify birth certificates and it was discovered by the Station Commander that the documents were fraudulent. The Tshwane District Tracing Team and Intelligence were immediately notified to make further investigations.
Preliminary investigation led the team to a house in Kromkuil where fraudulent identity documents, birth certificates, marriage certificates, national qualifications and drivers licenses were found. A 47-year-old man was arrested.
Both the man and woman are expected to appear before court soon on charges of possession of fraudulent documents and fraud. Police investigation continues.
