Detour at Fish Hoek traffic circle effective until 11 April 2022

Commuters are advised that the detour system at the traffic circle at the intersection of Main Road and Kommetjie Road in Fish Hoek will be in place until Monday, 11 April 2022, to accommodate roadworks.

Residents and businesses are kindly requested to note that the detour will have an impact on traffic flow and commuting times. Commuters are also advised to avoid travelling to Simon’s Town via Fish Hoek, and to use alternative routes where possible.

The detour is implemented at the traffic circle at the intersection of Main Road and Kommetjie Road between 09:00 and 16:00:

• From Wednesday, 6 April 2022 until Monday, 11 April 2022

• The detour may be extended, pending inclement weather and rain

The diversion of traffic is needed while the traffic circle is being resurfaced.

‘This project has been progressing well and I want to thank local residents and the business community, as well as commuters, for their support and understanding. The rainy weather earlier this week has delayed our work, and therefore we need to extend this detour. We are trying our best to get the work done as soon as possible,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
