Deputy President Mabuza to pay a courtesy call on His Majesty King Misuzulu Ka Zwelithini and engage with Traditional Leaders in KwaZulu-Natal

Deputy President David Mabuza, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Inter-Ministerial Task Team established to respond to matters raised by Traditional and Khoi-San Leaders, will pay a courtesy call on Isilo Samabandla His Majesty King MisuZulu Ka Zwelithini on Thursday, 06 October 2022.

The courtesy call on His Majesty will precede an engagement the Deputy President will have with Traditional Leaders in the KwaZulu-Natal Province on Friday, 07 October 2022.

The engagement with Traditional Leaders is in line with the Government’s commitment to ensure support to Traditional Leaders so that they are able to fulfill their roles in the development of rural communities and the preservation of our heritage, among others.

The Deputy President’s engagement with Traditional leaders aims to facilitate a social compact between Government and the institution of Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership in addressing all matters of concern faced by traditional communities.

The Deputy President will be accompanied by the Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Province, Ms Nomusa Dube-Ncube.

The courtesy call on Isilo Samabandla, His Majesty King MisuZulu Ka Zwelithini by the Deputy President takes place a few weeks prior to the King’s Coronation Ceremony, which will take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 29 October 2022.
