Deputy President David Mabuza visits North West Province on a vaccination campaign drive, 1 Oct

Deputy President David Mabuza will on Friday, 1 October 2021, launch the Vooma Vaccination Weekend Campaign in the Bojanala Platinum District, North West Province Province.

 

This campaign is giving effect to the call by President Cyril Ramaphosa for every Minister, Premier and Mayor to convene at least one prominent event in every district in the country to support and encourage people to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

 

This includes providing information and taking the vaccination sites into communities and homes.

 

Furthermore, the Deputy President will also lead the Return to Play: It’s In your Hands Social Mobilisation Campaign of the Department of Sport Arts and Culture, at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

 

The focus of these initiatives are on partnering with all sectors of society to increase the rate of vaccination in the country towards ensuring that we attain the target of reaching population immunity by 31 December 2021.

 

The Deputy President has been visiting different communities in order to encourage members of the public who are still hesitant towards COVID-19 vaccines, to vaccinate in order to reduce chances of death, serious illness and hospitalisations from contracting the Coronavirus. This is also to ensure that we return to normality and open up the economy.

 

Deputy President Mabuza will be accompanied by Mr Nathi Mtethwa, Minister for Sport, Arts and Culture; Mr Bushy Maape, Premier of the North West Province; Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo, the Deputy Minister for Health as well as Cllr Maria Fetsang Molosiwa, the Mayor of the Bojanala Platinum District.
