Health Deputy Minister embarks on Sexual Reproductive Health Campaign in KwaMaphumulo
Pretoria: The Deputy Minister Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo will tomorrow, (Monday, 22 August) embark on Sexual Reproductive Health awareness campaign in KwaMpahumulo, KwaZulu-Natal.
The event is part of the Department of Health`s ongoing programme targeting young people to raise awareness about the importance of access to health services by young people, especially sexual reproductive health services which include contraceptives which are key to prevent sexually transmitted infections, unplanned pregnancies and unsafe termination of pregnancy.
Deputy Minister Dhlomo will be joined by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Health, Ms Nomagugu Simelan; local government leaders and youth ambassadors, and interact with adolescent young women and men about the benefits of regular health screening, testing, prevention and treatment adherence.
A variety of health services, including COVID-19 vaccination and child immunisation, will be provided onsite.
