The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo will on Friday, (10 March 2023), attend and deliver an opening address at the South African Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Congress in Stellenbosch, outside Cape Town.
The three-day conference will be held under the theme: “Congenital Anterior Abdominal Defects”, which aims to explore how technological innovations such as ultrasound that can be used for comprehensive diagnosis, management, referral pathways, treatment and care for babies with congenital abnormalities.
Some of the topics to be discussed at the conference include amongst others: Screening for foetal malformation, Screening for congenital heart defects in the 1st trimester, Postnatal management of congenital urorenal anomalies, Screening and management of foetal growth restriction, etc.
