PRETORIA – Moroashike Mokoena (60), Mzwandile Mkhize (37) and Romeo Mohaudi, all former employees of the West Rand District Municipality appeared in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on charges relating to the Contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act and the Prevention and Combatting of Corrupt Activities Act.
The trio was arrested early yesterday morning when the members of the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation executed warrants of arrest in the ongoing investigation into the VBS Mutual bank looting as well as conduct search and seizure operation wherein electronic devices were seized.
The trio was granted R50 000 each and the case was postponed to 22 October 2021 provisionally for pre-trial preparations.
