Members of SAPS Brakpan arrested a 33-year-old man in Brakpan on Wednesday, 06 April 2022 for unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Police reportedly received an anonymous tip-off from a community member and the SAPS members proceeded to the identified address. A search led the members to recover an unlicensed hailgun and ammunition.

Station Commander of SAPS Brakpan, Brigadier Fred Jonck thanked his members involved for the swift recovery and arrest.

The suspect is expected to appear before a Magistrates' Court soon.
