LIMPOPO – The community mobilization for the upcoming Ministerial Imbizo have reached the final stages on airwaves at Univen FM.
The Ministerial gender-based violence Rural Safety Imbizo is scheduled to take place at Thohoyandou Manini Village at All Blacks Sports Ground in the Vhembe District, Limpopo Province on Saturday, 26 February 2022.
Univen FM provided Thohoyandou SAPS Communication Officer, Sergeant Dathi a radio slot between 19:00 until 20:00 last night to inform listeners about the Imbizo which will be mainly focusing on gender-based violence issues.
In addition, the weekly successes and crimes including rape, burglaries at residential and businesses premises and recent drownings cases that are currently occurring in the District were also highlighted during the awareness campaign.
Communities interested in attending the Ministerial Imbizo were also encouraged to adhere with the Covid-19 Regulations Act such as sanitizing, wearing of masks and keeping of social distance during the event.
The Imbizo on gender-based violence and femicide that will be conducted in Manini village offers an opportunity for all stakeholders and the community at large to further deepen and consolidate efforts to combat gender-based violence and femicide.
The dialogue will also provide a platform for collaboration across national, provincial and local stakeholders with civil society organisations towards a transformed and inclusive society in addressing gender-based violence and femicide in an integrated manner.
