Community members advised to call 10111 due to several Cape Town police station telephone lines down

Telephone lines to a number of police stations in the Cape Town metropole are currently down. Technicians are currently hard at work trying to determine the cause with a view to fixing the problem.

As a contingency plan, community members are advised to call the 10111 line that will in turn connect them to their respective police stations utilising other means of communication.

The management of SAPS in the Western Cape apologises for the inconvenience that may arise from this unforeseen situation.

While the relevant experts determine the source of this technical failure, the deployment of police officials in terms of the crime threat analysis will not be hampered as other means of communication remain in place.

Further communication on the issue will follow in due course as the situation is monitored constantly.
