The City’s Human Settlements Directorate assisted residents in Woodstock with their housing related enquiries and provided feedback on the City’s plans for their area. Last month, the Human Settlements Directorate embarked on its Roadshow and has been assisting residents in various areas across the city.
The City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Councillor Malusi Booi, and officials in the Human Settlements Directorate visited the Subcouncil 16 Roadshow where a number of residents received assistance with their housing related enquiries in the Woodstock Town Hall.
Subcouncil 16 consists of five wards (Ward 54, 55, 57, 77 and 116) that include the Central Business District (CBD) and Atlantic Seaboard as well as the Paarden Island industrial area.
‘Our roadshows have been doing extremely well over the recent weeks with City officials in all departments of human settlements assisting residents with a variety of enquiries. Residents are being assisted with social housing and tenancy matters, logging services requests, rent relief applications, Housing Needs Register enquiries and applications, and general queries.
‘We are grateful for the opportunity to assist so many residents at this time of the year when residents are at their busiest. Our roadshows are convenient as they assist residents right on their doorsteps. Over the coming weeks our teams will be in a number of communities so that we assist many more residents with their housing related matters,’ said Councillor Booi.
