Water supply to these areas has been shut down due to a severely leaking 650mm diameter water supply pipeline. An assessment of the leaking pipeline was done over the weekend, and repairs were planned for a later date, but the condition has since worsened, and it now requires immediate attention.
The water in the vicinity of the leak is currently being pumped out for the repairs to be done safely and the technical and maintenance teams are on site to solve the issue.
Residents are requested to ensure their taps are closed to prevent any water wastage and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
Water tankers will be roaming through the areas to provide water for domestic purposes where required. Covid-19 measures will apply when collecting water from the tankers.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience, but it is imperative that it maintains and upgrades its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
