City advises of water supply disruption to the Labiance, Loumar, Meyerhof, Shirley Park, Sirrocco Village and Marinda Park areas

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off the water supply to the Labiance, Loumar, Meyerhof, Shirley Park, Sirrocco and Marinda Park areas, from 20:00 on Wednesday, 6 April 2022 until 04:00 on Thursday, 7 April 2022. This will enable the maintenance crew to safely complete the installation of a control valve and a water meter on the water supply main to the area. This work will result in the disruption of the water supply to the Labiance, Loumar, Meyerhof, Shirley Park, Sirrocco Village and Marinda Park area.

Careful consideration has been given to the planning of this work to ensure minimal disruption to the water supply in the affected area.

Residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers upfront for domestic use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Strategy. Managing water pressure more effectively reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it upgrades and maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
