The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be connecting a newly installed water supply pipeline to the existing water supply network on Thursday, 7 October 2021. This upgrade was originally intended to be completed in late July 2021, but encountered some logistical delays.

This work will result in the disruption of the water supply from 09:00 until 17:00 on Thursday, 7 October 2021.

Residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers for use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

A water tanker will be stationed in Promenade Street in Hout Bay during this period. Residents collecting water from the tanker must ensure that they wear masks and observe social distancing in compliance with the current Covid-19 regulations.

The City regrets any inconvenience, but it must enhance the water supply infrastructure to benefit consumers in the area.
