The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be doing a tie-in on the main water supply network affecting parts of Langeberg Ridge and Langeberg Heights on Wednesday, 24 November 2021 from 09:00 until approximately 16:00. The supply needs to be shut to enable the work to be done safely. Read more below:
This project will result in the temporary disruption of water supply to the area east of Brackenfell Boulevard, south of Langeberg Road, west of Okavango Road and north of Steenbok Street, including the Okavango Crossing Shopping Centre, Elishua Villas, Den Anker, Limberlost as well as Hackney Crescent and Tennessee Street north of Langeberg Road (i.e. opposite Okavango Crossing shopping centre).
The tie-in will enhance the supply in the area by creating a ring main and also making provision for future developments in the area.
Consumers in this area are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period. They must also ensure that their taps are closed while the work is in progress to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.
A water tanker will be stationed in the parking area of the shopping centre close to McDonald’s to provide water if required.
The City apologises for any inconvenience caused, however, it is imperative that it enhances its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
