City advises of water supply disruption in the Vredehoek, Tamboerskloof and Bo-Kaap areas

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be conducting urgent repairs on the 225mm diameter main water supply to the Vredehoek, Tamboerskloof and Bo-Kaap areas. This work will result in the disruption of water supply to these areas on Wednesday, 9 March 2022, from 20:00 until 24:00.

The work involves cutting out and replacing a weakened section of pipe in Glen Crescent, Gardens which has resulted in previous water supply disruptions.

Careful consideration has been given to the planning of the work to ensure the least disruption to consumers in the area.

Some residents will experience low water pressure and others no water during this period.

Residents are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers
