City advises of water supply disruption in part of Kommetjie

The City’s Water and Sanitation Directorate will be shutting off the water supply to a part of Kommetjie from 08:00 until 16:00 on Wednesday, 17 August 2022. This will enable the safe completion of construction work on the main water supply to the area and will result in the disruption of the water supply to part of Kommetjie including the following roads - Teubes Road, Maree Road, Maree Close, Mountain Road, Mountain Place, De Villiers Road, Susan Road, Rubbi Road, Erica Road, Kirsten Avenue, Van der Poll Avenue, Huskisson Way, Van Imhoff Way, Dreyer Road, Crassula Road, Lighthouse Road, Protea Avenue, Disa Avenue, Nerina Avenue, Clan Monroe Avenue and Aloe Road.

The work involves cutting into the pipeline to connect the Village Lane Development to the existing water supply network in Teubes Road.

Residents are kindly advised to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use during this period and ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

A water tanker will be parked in Teubes Road in front of the Village Lane Development for the duration of the work to provide the affected residents with water for domestic use where required.

The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused, but it is imperative that it upgrades and maintains its water supply infrastructure to benefit its consumers.
