The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be replacing a faulty valve on the water supply main to the Table View area on Tuesday, 22 February from 21:00 until 05:00 on Wednesday, 23 February 2022. This will assist with the progress of the current pipe replacement and upgrade programme for the area.
This work will result in the disruption of the water supply to the area along the northern part of Blaauwberg Road in Table View. Some areas may experience low water pressure and others no water.
Careful consideration has been given to the planning of the valve replacement so that the work is done at a time that is least disruptive to residents.
This work forms part of the City’s pipe replacement and upgrade programme, which evaluates the water supply network in terms of the frequency and number of bursts. Replacements are then scheduled.
Residents are kindly requested to store water upfront in clean, sealed containers for domestic use, while the work is being done. Residents should also keep their taps closed during this period to prevent water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.
The City sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused. However, it is imperative that it maintains its water supply infrastructure to the benefit of its consumers.
