City advises of water supply disruption affecting the Stikland area

The City’s Water and Sanitation Department will be shutting off the water supply to the Stikland area, from 21:00 on Monday, 4 April 2022 until 04:00 on Tuesday, 5 April 2022. This will enable the safe completion of construction work on the main water supply to the area and will result in the disruption of water supply to the Stikland area bounded by Kuils River, Willow, Strand and Old Paarl Roads.

The work involves cutting into the pipeline to connect an air valve and a flowmeter to the water supply network.

Careful consideration has been given to the planning of this work to ensure minimal disruption to the water supply in the affected area.

Residents are advised to store water in clean, sealed containers upfront for domestic use during this period and to ensure that their taps are closed to avoid water loss and/or damage when the supply is restored.

This work forms part of the City’s Water Demand Management Strategy. Managing water pressure more effectively reduces the possibility of pipe bursts and water wastage.

The City regrets any inconvenience caused.
