Celebrating our rich and diverse cultures

On Monday, 23 September 2024, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2, led by the Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae and her management team, held a heritage celebration at a resort outside Koster.

The police stations and specialized units in the district participated in this annual event by competing in the preparation of” poitjie Kos.”

Singing and chanting filled the venue as members celebrated the day wearing their diverse beautiful heritage attires.

Rustenburg SAPS retained the trophy for the third time in a row by displaying the best presentation on the concept/theme of the day, “Poitjie kos.” Boitekong and Koster SAPS shared the second position while Swartruggens occupied the third spot.

Kgosana (Dr) Koketso Rakhudu of the Bafokeng Royal Nation at Tsitsing village was one of the judges. He conveyed the message of support to the members and further encouraged them to continue serving their respective communities while acknowledging and
recognizing their cultures.

In conclusion, Brigadier Ntoagae thanked all the attendees for their discipline throughout the day and congratulated all the winners.
