The Eastern Cape Hawks Head, Major General Mboiki Obed Ngwenya, has commended the collaborative efforts of the investigation team and the National Prosecuting Authority in securing life sentences and 216 years for Lwando Ntiayantia (36) and Nkosekhaya Lloyd (38).

The two were arrested for robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The Makhanda High Court sentenced Ntiyantiya and Lloyd on 19 February 2024 for charges including four counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder, three counts of attempted murder, three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Following various court appearance, both Ntiyantiya and Lloyd were sentenced on 19 February 2024 in the Makhanda High Court.

The breakdown of their sentences includes significant prison terms for counts related to robbery, murder, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of ammunition. Concurrent sentences were also imposed for certain charges.
