The field is set for the Bay Hill Premier Cup 2022 tournament
The field is set for the Bay Hill Premier Cup 2022 tournament, following the launch and fixture draw at the City Hall last night.
A total of 32 teams will go head to head in eight groups come Easter weekend, as the beloved and extremely popular football tournament returns after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.
‘I was so excited to be part of the launch event, and having a hand in the fixture draw. But I’m also excited for the hundreds of young soccer players who’ll have an opportunity to showcase their skills in this very important tournament. The Bay Hill Cup has a proud tradition as the Launchpad for a number of PSL and Bafana Bafana players, and I have no doubt that more future stars are just waiting in the wings.
‘With just a few weeks to go before the first match, I want to wish all of the teams the very best with their preparations. The last two years have been difficult and frustrating for many in the sporting fraternity. Now that you have the opportunity once more to do what you love most, I encourage you to seize the opportunity with both hands,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Patricia Van der Ross.
