POTCHEFSTROOM – Lebogang Mohitsane (24) and Kamogelo Mokgale (20) were remanded in custody upon appearance before the Klerksdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 September 2022, for attempted murder. They will reappear before the same court on Friday, 23 September 2022.
The accused’s court appearances emanated from their apprehension after involvement in a gang-related confrontation between two rival gangs; Money Lovers Enemy West Side and Money Lovers Jungle on Tuesday, 30 August 2022 in Extension 24, Jouberton. Preliminary investigations indicated that two men were stabbed multiple times during this confrontation.
Following a good investigative work by the Anti-Gang Unit, the accused were traced and ultimately arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning, 15 September 2022.
The Provincial Commissioner of North West, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, congratulated the Anti-Gang Unit members for their hard work that led to this success. He reiterated that the police will continue to work hard to address gang related crimes.
