Police officers from the Political Task Team are investigate charges of murder. It is alleged that on 31 August 2020 at 23:55, three people were shot and killed while in a vehicle at Pieters area in Ezakheni.
The deceased were identified as Mncedisi Dladla (26), Dima Dladla (30) and Nompumelelo Thwala (24). Charges of murder were opened for investigation at Ezakheni SAPS. The docket was transferred to the Political Task Team for investigation. The investigation conducted led to the arrest of five accused, Lethukuthula Khumalo (25), Sabelo Madlala (25), Sandile Sibonelo Madlala (32), Thabiso Nkosi (23) and Siyabonga Sikhakhane (29) who were charged with murder and attempted murder. The accused were remanded in custody until 27 August 2021 in the Ezakheni Magistrates Court.
The detective team is appealing to the members of the community to assist in locating Sizwe Madoda Shelembe/Thabethe (28). A warrant for his arrest was issued by the court and a reward of up to R20 000-00 has been offered to anyone who may have an information that will lead to his arrest.
