Durban Central Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit Detectives are seeking assistance in finding the male in the attached photo to help solve a case of rape they are investigating.
It is alleged that on 20 January 2021, at 16:00, an 18-year-old woman was at Berea Park Road in Essenwood when she was approached by an unknown man who introduced himself as Thapelo. The victim continued walking, with said male following her. He reportedly overpowered and raped her. He also robbed the victim of her cellphone before fleeing the scene on foot.
Charges of robbery and rape were opened at Berea police station and the docket was transferred to Durban Central FCS Unit for further investigation.
