The swift response by members of the Kensington Crime Prevention Unit led to the arrests of three suspects aged 15, 28 and 32 yesterday, 19 September 2021. The members were busy with patrols when they heard gunshots going off. They responded and with the help of the community, they arrested the suspects. A 9mm pistol with ammunition was confiscated.
In an unrelated matter members of the Western Cape Flying Squad received information about firearms at an address in Kraaifontein. The address was searched and a 9mm pistol, .22 rifle and different calibre ammunition were found on the premises. A 30-year-old suspect was arrested and detained.
The suspects are due to make their respective court appearances once they have been charged.
