WESTERN CAPE - On Monday, 29 August 2022, members attached to Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) in Worcester assisted members of Wolseley SAPS regarding a suspect, who had attempted to commit an armed robbery and who fired several shots at police. A clothing description of the suspect was obtained.

The members were busy with patrols in the Pine Valley area where they observed a male fitting the description walking in De Smith Street. The members approached the suspect and he attempted to flee but was apprehended with a firearm and ammunition, found in his possession.

Once charged the 29-year-old suspect will appear in the Wolseley Magistrate’s Court on various charges i attack on police, attempted murder, and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
