On Monday, 30 May 2022 the Springbok Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit in partnership with different Government Departments and stakeholders within the Namakwa District held an anti-bullying awareness campaign at the Concordia Primary school.
Approximately 80 scholars attended the event and information was shared by the different speakers in an attempt to create awareness about the different forms of bullying and the process to be followed when reporting such incidents.
This multi-disciplinary event was supported by the Thutuzela Care Centre of Springbok, the NPA, Department of Education and Department Social Development.
In conclusion the scholars were encouraged to report any form of abuse to the school and also promised that it will be handled with the strictest of confidence.
The anti-bullying campaign forms part of the child protection week currently being observed under the theme, Let us all Protect our Children during Covid-19 and beyond.
