Angolan National Detained at Namibian Airport for Suspected Cocaine Trafficking

WINDHOEK – In a significant drug bust at Hosea Kutako International Airport, the Namibian Police Force, in collaboration with the Namibia Revenue Agency, arrested an Angolan citizen for allegedly carrying cocaine.

According to NAMPA, spokesperson for the Namibian Police Force, the individual was found on Saturday with 67 bullets of what is suspected to be cocaine powder. This arrest marks the second such incident within a week, with a previous arrest involving another foreign national caught with 85 bullets of suspected cocaine in his stomach just last Thursday.

Both individuals reportedly arrived in Namibia from Ethiopia, with the latter suspect concealing the drugs in his underwear, intending to reach Windhoek. Shikwambi stressed the apparent cocaine demand within Namibia, urging societal cooperation to address smuggling by both nationals and foreigners through the country’s entry points. The police are conducting thorough investigations to trace the intended recipients of the seized narcotics.
