Official handing over of the Institute for Development Assistance Management project close-up evaluation report
The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD), in partnership with the University of Fort Hare (UFH), will be celebrating the official handover of the Institute for Development Assistance Management (IDAM) Project Close-Up Evaluation Report and handing over of IDAM assets to the university on 18 November 2022.
The IDAM project is designed to address the need for a strong and effective support capacity for future management of South Africa’s international development cooperation in agriculture and food security in neighbouring countries.
IDAM is the product of an agreement between DALRRD and UFH and it is located at the UFH, Bisho Campus. It was established at the UFH, firstly out of a need for a strong and effective support capacity in development cooperation in the field of agriculture and food security in South Africa and its neighbouring countries, and secondly, to prevent skills and capacity dependency from countries outside Africa for services. It was officially launched on 22 March 2016 at the University of Forth Hare, Bisho Campus in the Eastern Cape.
The institute provides training in improved development assistance management and effectiveness, primarily to South African government officials involved in development assistance and related work.
