In a significant stride towards digital transformation, Afrimoney has officially launched a partnership agreement with the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) to enable water bill payments through Afrimoney. The launch event took place at the SALWACO head office in Tower Hill, Freetown.
The Managing Director of SALWACO, Ing. George Lamin Vandi, emphasized the primary objective of this partnership is to optimize revenue collection and enhance service delivery for the people of Sierra Leone. “This initiative will reduce administrative burdens, lower the carbon footprint, provide easy payment access, increase revenue mobilization, ensure sustainability, and boost customer satisfaction,” said Vandi. He further highlighted that this is part of a broader effort to modernize the company and embrace digital trends.
Dr. Emmanuel Mannah, the Director General of the Electricity and Water Regulations Commission, noted the benefits of using the Afrimoney mobile system for tariff setting, revenue generation, and collect
ion. He encouraged other government entities to adopt similar digital solutions.
