Acting Provincial Commissioner’s Heritage Day message to the people in Mpumalanga

In celebration of National Heritage Day, the Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi has urged all people in Mpumalanga to embrace the values of ‘Ubuntu’ (humanity), respect for the lives and properties of others, and to strive for peace and harmony within our communities.

As many across the province engage in various activities to promote cultural diversity, social cohesion, and reconciliation, the SAPS reminds the public to ensure their own safety and that of others. Whilst members of the public will be busy with hype of activities on this day, it is important to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances and to exercise caution during gatherings and celebrations. Those going to pools, dams and rivers should avoid the consumption of alcohol whilst engaging in swimming as this can lead to drowning. Parents are also advised to talk to their children concerning safety at the alluded places to prevent the loss of life.

The SAPS emphasizes the importance of working collectively to combat crime and create a safe and secure environment for all,” said Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi.
