The Management of the police in the Northern Cape welcomes the 25 year rape and assault GBH sentence that was handed down to Jim Horing in Kimberley recently.
On the evening of 07 November 2020 the female victim (41) and her boyfriend Jim Horing went to bed at their home in Diamond Park Shanties, Greenpoint in Kimberley.
The boyfriend forcefully and severely raped her resulting in serious injuries.
Two days later the boyfriend fetched the victim at work and assaulted her severely after accusing her of having an affair with her boss.
She laid a charge and Horing was arrested on 14 November 2021 and remained in custody until his sentencing on 03 June 2022 in the Galeshewe Backlog Court.
The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Brig Nicky Mills lauded D/ Sgt Mario Sethlow of the Kimberley FCS unit for his meticulous investigation that led to this outstanding sentence.
