Different Government Departments including the South African Police Service, Department of Immigration, District Environment Health Practitioners, Disaster Management and Fire Service had a successful Multidisciplinary Operation focusing on Disaster Management Act Regulations in Maletswai /Aliwal North and Burgersdorp areas respectively.
Both Operations started at 09:00 till 13:00 on 23 August 2021, monitoring and enforcing the Disaster Management Act Regulations and compliance in respect of the fact that there was an increase in the number of people that tested positive for Covid-19 in the Walter Sisulu Municipality area.
According to the Operational Commander, Lt Col Marnewick these kind of activities is part of an on-going program in support of Women Month also ensuring that communities are safe and taught about wearing of masks, washing hands regularly and adhering to social distancing at all times .
