GAUTENG - On Monday, 06 June 2022 a team consisting of members from SAPS Eersterust, Gauteng Traffic and Provincial Traffic arrested two suspects in Eersterust in separate incidents for dealing and possession of drugs.

In the first incident, a multi-disciplinary team consisting of members from SAPS Eersterust, Gauteng Traffic and Provincial Traffic, the team proceeded to an identified address in Eersterust. Upon their arrival at the said address, the suspect attempted to flee, but was swiftly apprehended by the members. A search led to the recovery of drugs and a jamming device; the 23-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested.

On the same day the team also arrested a 32-year-old suspect in Eersterust following a community tip-off. The team recovered Mandrax tablets and cash believed to the proceeds of suspected drug deals.

The team also closed down two "shebeens" and issued fines for selling liquor without a liquor license.
