54 year old alleged fraudster arrested

NELSPRUIT – A 54-year-old man has been arrested for fraud after allegedly providing a bank with false documents. The incident occurred yesterday, 15 September 2022, in Bushbuckridge.

According to the information, the man visited the bank and requested to be assisted with a loan application. The consultant realised that the payslip and the Identity document do not match. The man was requested to provide his bank statement, it also did not correspond. That is when the consultant realised that he was allegedly in a mission to defraud the bank.

Police were notified and upon investigation, a case docket was registered and the suspect was arrested.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court today, Friday, 16 September 2022 for fraud.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has welcomed the arrest of the alleged fraudster and has cautioned the public to guard against such especially during this time of the year where people prepare themselves for festive season.
