ALIWAL NORTH – Members’ continued efforts to eradicate the smuggling and trafficking of drugs yield positive results as a 28-year-old suspect was arrested.
In an intelligence driven operation, positive information was followed up and on 11 April 2022, at 16:07, a taxi was stopped by members of Aliwal North Crime Intelligence and Public Order Policing Unit.
The luggage of a 28-year-old female was searched and 300 sachets of drugs to the value of R 30 000-00 were confiscated.
It is alleged that she travelled from Bloemfontein bringing the drugs to Aliwal North.
She was arrested and will appear before court on a charge of possession of drugs.
The acting District Commissioner, Brigadier Rudolph Adolph commended the members on the successful arrest and recovery of the large quantity of drugs.
