EASTERN CAPE – During July 2018 the victim was on her way home. On the way she was grabbed by the suspect who raped her and after took her cell phone.

A case of rape was reported and was assigned to Sgt Nomtandazo Qina. Sgt Qina sacrificed many hours during investigation until the case was finalized

On Friday 04 February 2022 Elona Basela was found Guilty at Queenstown Regional Court and was sentenced to undergo 12 months for theft and 07 years for Rape

Acting District Commissioner Brigadier Zuziwe Magqashela commended the work done by investigating officer.
