Media Invitation: SAPS to launch 2021/2022 Annual National Safer Festive Season Operations, and introduce the Integrated Youth Crime Prevention Strategy in Brits, North WestThe Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele together with the Deputy Minister of Police, Mr Cassel Mathale and the National Police Commisioner, General Khehla John Sitole will on Friday, 15 October 2021 launch the National Safer Festive Season Operations in Brits, North West. The SAPS annual Safer Festive Season Operations will be launched under the theme “Extending our reach through blue light visibility”; and are aimed at making South Africa a safer place during the busy festive season running up to 31 January 2022. The focus will be on visible policing and conducting special crime awareness and prevention operations; targeting crimes prevalent during this period such as: crimes against women and children, border security, and contravention of road and traffic regulations. On the same day, the SAPS will introduce the Integrated Youth Crime Prevention Strategy. The Strategy aims to ensure that the youth are empowered and supported to become self-sufficient and become involved in crime-fighting initiatives. Source: South African Police Service
