16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children campaigns are continuously gaining momentum

GIYANI – The 16 Days of Activism for no Violence against Women and Children campaign was jointly conducted on Tuesday 30 November 2021 at Ntlakuso Drop in Centre in Khakhala village under Vhembe District.

 

The Giyani SAPS were partnered with the Departments of Health, Social Development and Vision Fm. Police were represented by the Social Crime Prevention Coordinator, Sergeant Maluleke, Communication Officer, Constable Ridgewell Rikhotso, Victim Empowerment Center (VEP) official, Katekani Sambo and Young Civilians on Patrol (Ycop).

 

The attendees were addressed by numerous speakers about Gender Based Violence (GBV), Domestic violence, sexual offences, human trafficking, how to report a missing person, drug and substance abuse.

 

Additionally, the masses were cautioned about safe distribution of stockvel money, mob killings and child negligence.

 

Moreover, food parcels were also donated by the stakeholders involved to the three victims of abuse.

 

Lastly, the contact numbers of the Station Management and Units were also provided and pamphlets pertinent to Gender Based Violence, sexual offences and safety tips distributed as the campaign concluded.
