Two men accused of killing a farmer appears in court

DURBAN – It is alleged that on 10 April 2021 at 10:00, the body of Neil Mckay (46) was found in his farm in Winterton with strangulation marks on the neck.

His hands were also tied and he was found in his wheelchair. It was established that an undisclosed amount of cash, binoculars and a speaker were taken from the house. A case of murder was opened for investigation by Winterton SAPS.

Last month, a team of dedicated Detectives from Winterton SAPS managed to make a breakthrough when they arrested two suspects. The first suspect Bongani Mkhwanazi (18) years was arrested at Khethani area in Winterton.

The second suspect Bokang Petrose Tsatsi (23) years was arrested at Acaciaville in Ladysmith where he was hiding. He was found in possession of the deceased’s binoculars and a speaker. They made their court appearance last month. The two suspects are appearing again before the Colenso Magistrates’ Court today for a formal bail application.
