Three men were nabbed in possession of a hijacked vehicle in Makhanda within two hours, after the vehicle was reportedly hijacked in Kariega yesterday, 22 August 2021.
On Sunday, 22 August 2021 at about 19:00, it is reported that members from Grahamstown K9 Unit were conducting patrols, when they received a signal and the location of a vehicle that was allegedly hijacked in KwaNobuhle, Kariega about two hours earlier. Moments later, a vehicle, a blue Chev bakkie was spotted in Beaufort Street, Makhanda, and was pulled off the road.
The three occupants were arrested and detained at Makhanda SAPS for possession of suspected stolen property and the vehicle was seized for further investigation. The three men aged between 19 and 43 are due to appear in the Kwanobuhle Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 August 2021 on charges of hijacking and possession of stolen property.
