Taxi driver wounded in shooting in Gqeberha

On 21 July 2021 just after 17:00, a taxi driver was shot and injured in Seyisi Street, Kwazakele.

The 34-year-old Sindile Phamala, a jikileza driver was busy calling for passengers/clients, when an unknown male suspect produced a firearm and started shooting several shots at him, and then fled from the scene again on foot.

The victim was wounded in his upper body and was transported to Dora Nginza Hospital for medical assistance and treatment. An attempted murder case was opened at New Brighton SAPS.
