WESTERN CAPE – The immediate response by police members, responding to the unnatural behaviour of a suspect, led to the arrest of a man in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and presumed stolen property
On Monday, 09 August 2021 at about 17:40, members of Lockdown II were busy with stop and search operations in Leiden, Delft, when they spotted a man in front of a house in Leiden Avenue. When he saw the police members he walked into a nearby premises and in full view of police members dropped an object as he tried to flee the scene. The unknown man, wearing a backpack, was brought under control. A 9mm pistol and ammunition and a car amplifier and speakers were recovered.
The 25 year old man was arrested and detained and made a court appearance in the in the Blue Downs court today, 11 August 2021, on the mentioned charges.
