Welkom: On Monday, 19 July 2021 at about 13:00 members of the Tactical Response Team (TRT) followed information about a male who was allegedly dealing in dagga at Rheederpark in Welkom.

Members identified his residence and approached the house, the reason for the visit was explained and permission was granted to search the premises.

While members were busy, a yellow bag full of dagga with the street value of R1000 was found and seized. Additional charge of illegal immigration was added as the suspect could not produce documents to be in South Africa.

A 27-year-old suspect was arrested and appeared in Welkom Magistrate Court on 20 July 2021 and the case was postpone till 23 July 2021 for bail application.
