Somerset East: SAPS endeavours to remove illicit drugs from our streets yield positive results when suspects aged 26 and 39 were arrested in possession of drugs.
It is alleged that on the evening of Friday 02 July 2021, Somerset East and Cookhouse Crime Prevention members followed information at a residence in Newbrighton location, Somerset East and arrested suspects after they were found in possession of drugs.
The team recovered 84 full -, 29 half -, 13 quarter Mandrax tablets and crushed Mandrax, 51 packets containing Tik, six envelopes containing dagga, 17 bompies of dagga, 138.8 grams of loose dagga and a substantial amount of cash.
The estimated street value of the drugs is R15 412,00.
The suspects will appear before Somerset East Magistrates’ Court soon.
Somerset East Station Commander, Captain Zukiswa Mzalisi thanked the members for their positive attitude they had shown in the operation, for the arrests and recovery of drugs
